Emergency Assistant for Nokia Phones

nokia applicationEmergency Assistant is an application for Nokia smatphones and is developed by a friend of mine from Canada which is also Romanian, and Moldovian, and Ukrainian :), all in one. This post is in english that the message to reach to much more people and this way maybe his work will be apreciated and why not this application to be bought by many!

Below are his words:

In emergency situations, by shaking the phone a few times, this application can immediately send an alert SMS to a list of 1-5 persons who may provide the help. The application has also a function called fall down alert which can automatically send alert SMSs in cases of accidents. Another possibility is to send alert SMSs by pressing a button, or the touch screen.

This application is only for newest Nokia smartphones which have an accelerometer because the application uses it. Also it uses the geolocation data, but it is optional. It is written in Java Micro Edition (J2ME).

I was inspired by my working before at Nordicom where I had the great opportunity of developing the security systems of this company mostly in Java SE (www.securalert.net) and I decided to create another product for smartphones. The smartphones becomes more and more popular among people. Smartphone is a pocket computer with a telephone function among millions of other functions.

This is the first product and I will do some others, I have some other ideas. :)

BING.com un nou motor de cautare

Acum doua saptamani in urma,pe data de 3 iunie 2009 a intrat in functiune un nou motor de cautare ("search engine") numit BING.com . Acest site apartine companiei Microsoft ca un inlocuitor pentru Windows Live Search. Bing este numit de catre cei de la Microsoft ca fiind un motor decizional. Aici echipa Bing da si un mic exemplu cum poti sa castigi bani de pe urma acestui search engine cu ajutorul optiunii cashback. Acest motor de cautare deja are si o pagina pe Wikipedia . In caz ca doriti sa faceti o comparatie Google vs. Bing este deja un site care face acest lucru. Ramane la decizia voastra ce motor de cautare sa folositi!

Guşteriţa, Sibiu

Fãrã canalizare si cu drumuri pietruite, sibienii din cel mai oropsit cartier al Sibiului se întreabã dacã n-ar fi fost mai bine ca Gusterita sã rãmânã comunã. Install Heroes Of Might and Magic 3 on Ubuntu Linux

This is an other small tutorial on how to install a game on Ubuntu Linux. Until now I've already explained how to install Football Manager 2011 on Ubuntu and I've seen that a lot of people are entering on my blog looking how to do that. I think that you know Heroes 3 and that you've played in Windows but the story and the game play is calling you to play it also in Linux, no? First we have to download and install this game. Download I think that this is the easiest step, you just have to search on Google something like this download heroes 3 linux and I'm definitively sure that you'll find a site from which to download the game files ;).
